Ian Thornley Signature Fuzz
The Thornicus Fuzz was developed in close collaboration with Ian Thornley of Big Wreck. After years of refining, touring, and chasing the perfect octave fuzz tones, the result is a fully independent dual-channel fuzz that delivers massive saturation, rich harmonic complexity, and exceptional control.
Originally conceived as a single fuzz circuit with a shared octave switch, the design evolved at Ian’s request into two fully independent channels: a Classic Fuzz and an Octave Fuzz, each with its own dedicated tone-shaping controls. The result is a highly flexible fuzz platform that lets you dial in everything from vintage-style saturation to harmonically rich octave textures with precision.
The Fuzz side delivers thick, saturated sustain with a warm, silky breakup that blooms into complex harmonic overtones. The Octave side stacks an octave fuzz in front of the main fuzz circuit, adding upper-octave character and touch-responsive harmonic complexity that shifts from chime to controlled chaos depending on your playing.
Each channel features its own passive Tone control, sweeping from thick warmth to tight brilliance as you turn it clockwise. Independent Level controls let you determine exactly how hard each side hits your amplifier. Dedicated Mids controls allow you to shape the voice from mid-scooped, grungy textures to forward, articulate presence that cuts through a mix.
The Thornicus also integrates seamlessly with MIDI, allowing you to store and recall bypass states for modern pedalboard setups.
