MOSFET Overdrive & Fuzz
The Proxima by Twilight Pulse Audioworks is a unique MOSFET-based overdrive and fuzz that moves effortlessly from rich, low-gain breakup to aggressive, full-range saturation.
At lower gain settings, the Proxima delivers a warm, articulate overdrive with a slightly preamp-like feel, preserving clarity and dynamics. As the gain is increased, it transitions into a raw, textured fuzz with a distinctive decay and a slightly gritty edge that sets it apart from more traditional designs.
At the core of the Proxima is an unconventional circuit built around an obsolete MOSFET op-amp, paired with carefully selected NOS silicon diodes. This combination produces a complex, harmonically rich saturation with a touch of fizz that remains organic and responsive.
Rather than stacking separate gain stages, the Proxima presents a single, evolving voice that reacts naturally to your playing and guitar volume, covering everything from subtle breakup to fully saturated fuzz.
Fully hand-built using high-quality through-hole components, the Proxima reflects Twilight Pulse’s focus on character, feel, and individuality.
