A Magnatone-inspired Overdrive and Vibrato!
With the Killer V, Crazy Tube Circuits set out to capture the sound and feel of the legendary 1962 Magnatone Custom 460 Vibrato amp.
This compact pedal brings together two classic amp functions. On one side, it delivers a rich, Magnatone-style preamp with a deliciously dirty character. On the other, it offers a beautifully voiced vibrato.
Designed around JFET technology and an internal voltage multiplier, the Killer V operates with high headroom, faithfully recreating the tube-like warmth and response of the original amp. Crazy Tube Circuits meticulously replicated both the overdriven and lower-gain clean tones, ensuring an authentic playing experience.
Magnatone-inspired preamp.
The Killer V’s preamp isn’t a pristine, hi-fi clean boost. Instead, it delivers warm compression, organic breakup, and a vintage character reminiscent of the ‘50s and ‘60s.
A two-band EQ lets you sculpt your tone, while a three-way toggle switch offers Mellow, Normal, and Bright settings.
Magnatone amplifiers have been modded over the years for extra gain, so CTS included an internal switch to unlock even more dirt for players seeking a grittier edge!
Magnatone-style Vibrato.
Magnatone amps are famous for their pitch-shifting vibrato, and the Killer V delivers an authentic recreation of that signature effect.
CTS also included the option to mix in a dry signal alongside the modulated sound, unlocking lush, phaser-like textures reminiscent of classic vibe pedals!
