This pre-owned Wren and Cuff Box of War Small Foot shows a few small dings on the faceplate and around the side jack.
The pedal works perfectly and includes its original box and accessories.
A small Box of War!
The Wren and Cuff Box of War Small Foot delivers the exact same circuit, components and unmistakable sound as the original Box of War, packed into a more pedalboard-friendly 125-size enclosure.
Inspired by the highly sought-after Russian "Civil War" era Muffs of the early 1990s, the Box of War captures their distinctive darker, smoother and more restrained take on the classic Muff sound. Compared with many other versions of the circuit, it offers slightly less gain and output, with a woody sustain, strong presence and excellent note definition.
Its three-control layout keeps things refreshingly simple. Volume controls the overall output, Distortion takes the pedal from lower-gain, almost overdrive-like textures into thick sustaining fuzz, while Tone shapes the balance between darker, warmer sounds and brighter, more cutting tones.
Even at higher distortion settings, the Box of War retains impressive clarity and lets the character of your guitar remain present rather than disappearing beneath layers of fuzz.
The original Civil War Muffs became favorites of players including David Gilmour and Thurston Moore, but vintage examples can be inconsistent and increasingly difficult to find. The Box of War recreates that distinctive character using carefully selected modern components in a rugged, dependable pedal built for regular use.
