The Cryptid distills the best elements of iconic circuits into a wildly versatile design. Inspired by the Fuzz Face, Tone Bender, and Big Muff, the Cryptid delivers everything from searing, high-gain fuzz to touch-sensitive, vintage-style breakup!
At its core, the Cryptid is an original circuit, designed for players who love classic fuzz but want more flexibility.
The Character knob lets you sweep from smooth, violin-like sustain to sputtery, gated chaos. The Tight switch sculpts the low end for anything from thick, doom-approved riffs to tight, distortion-like fuzz. And with the Chime toggle, you can add extra harmonic sparkle without harshness.
Unlike many fuzz pedals, the Cryptid responds beautifully to your guitar’s volume knob. Roll it back, and you’re rewarded with sparkling cleans—just like a vintage germanium fuzz. Place it before a buffer, stack it with your favorite overdrive, or run it straight into a cranked amp; the Cryptid adapts to your rig and playing style effortlessly!
