I actually did need another dirt pedal!

I have over 20 overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals, so it is getting hard to find pedals that do something different than ones I already have. The VS Audio Platinum Overdrive brought something new and exciting to my pedalboard. I have other “Marshall in a box” style pedals, like the Fulltone OCD, but the Platinum sounds different. The Platinum has an angrier, brighter, more cutting tone. It reminds me of great 80s metal tone. I have really enjoyed finding a new sound, especially since it means I can justify to myself continuing to buy pedals. :-)

Incredibly versatile

This pedal shines at high gain stuff for sure, but it’s also great at mid gain bluesy stuff (e.g. Bonamassa style leads).
