Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors is a boutique effect pedal manufacturer based in Tasmania, Australia.
All of their effects are filled with rare, NOS and reclaimed vintage components.
The Thylacine is their premium MK1.5 ToneBender. The units in stock were ordered with rare Mullard / Philips OC45 / OC81 transistors.
The Thylacine is harmonically very active. It is a bright, full and agressive fuzz but it is also very dynamic and responsive to pick attack.
It cleans up nicely when rolling down the Attack control and your guitar's volume. When wound up, the Thylacine is packed with rich harmonics and has a beautiful, violin-like quality. This fuzz truly is a beast!
The circuit is loaded with a selection of NOS Philips, Mullard mustard and Mullard tropical fish capacitors, as well as NOS Piher and Allen Bradley resistors. These beauties are all mounted onto a handcrafted turret board.
Van Diemens also uses Alpha potentiometers, Neutrik or Switchcraft jacks and Alpha footswitches.
