The Trueman 1966 Fuzz is a handcrafted germanium fuzz based on the earliest 1966 Fuzz Face circuitry that helped define the sound of psychedelic rock and classic rock guitar.
Built around carefully selected vintage germanium transistors and NOS Soviet components, the 1966 Fuzz faithfully captures the warmth, touch sensitivity, and exceptional cleanup that made the original Fuzz Face legendary while expanding its sonic palette with a bigger low end, adjustable gating, and remarkable dynamic response.
From fat-bottomed, crackling distortion to creamy sustain and glassy edge-of-breakup tones, the 1966 Fuzz responds beautifully to your picking dynamics and your guitar's volume control, making it every bit as expressive as the legendary circuits that inspired it.
At the heart of the 1966 Fuzz are two distinct operating modes.
1966 Mode delivers the smooth, warm, and highly dynamic response associated with the earliest germanium Fuzz Face pedals.
Trueman Mod retains the soul of the original while adding a fuller low end, increased punch, and a more assertive voice, making it equally comfortable for vintage-inspired blues and more aggressive rock tones.
Whether plugged into a clean amplifier or pushing an already overdriven amp, the 1966 Fuzz remains remarkably responsive and musical.
A minimalist Bias control allows players to adjust the amount of gating, ranging from smooth, harmonically rich sustain to crackling, sputtering vintage fuzz textures.
Like every Trueman pedal, the 1966 Fuzz is hand-built using carefully selected vintage germanium transistors, NOS Soviet components, and housed in a custom hand-painted steel enclosure.
Every pedal is presented in a custom wooden box inspired by vintage Soviet engineering equipment cases and includes a custom-sewn wool storage bag.
Rich, dynamic, and incredibly touch-sensitive, the Trueman 1966 Fuzz pays tribute to one of the most influential fuzz circuits ever created while adding the flexibility today's players expect.
