The SolidGoldFX Fuzzbox takes the unmistakable character of the legendary Tone Bender MKII and reimagines it as a versatile, modern fuzz. Evolving from SolidGoldFX's Rosie, the Fuzzbox combines a refined low-gain silicon transistor circuit with powerful controls for shaping everything from articulate vintage grind to thick, sustaining fuzz.
At its heart is a carefully tuned silicon fuzz circuit designed for exceptional touch sensitivity and dynamic response. The Fuzzbox reacts naturally to your picking attack and guitar's volume control, allowing you to move from cleaner, gritty textures to rich, harmonically complex fuzz without sacrificing note definition.
A two-position Vintage/Modern switch gives the pedal two distinct personalities. Vintage mode provides the raw, direct response and interaction associated with classic MKII-style fuzz circuits, while Modern mode delivers a smoother, fuller sound with enhanced low end and improved compatibility with wah pedals, buffers and contemporary pedalboard setups.
Dedicated Bias and Sag controls take the Fuzzbox well beyond a traditional vintage fuzz. Bias adjusts the operating point of the third transistor, allowing you to fine-tune the pedal's character and response, while Sag reduces the circuit voltage to recreate the softer attack and natural compression of a dying battery. Together, they let you dial in everything from tight, immediate fuzz to softer, more textured and unpredictable vintage tones.
Designed and built in Montreal, Canada, the Fuzzbox combines the unmistakable attitude of vintage British fuzz with the consistency, flexibility and pedalboard-friendly design expected from a modern SolidGoldFX pedal.
