The Sound of Maui, Reimagined in a Compact Format

The Sabbadius Funky-Vibe ST Maui captures the unmistakable Uni-Vibe tones heard during Jimi Hendrix's legendary Maui performance on July 30, 1970, now housed in Sabbadius' more compact ST enclosure.

Far more than a simple vibe pedal, the Funky-Vibe ST Maui is the result of years of research into the original Uni-Vibe circuitry and Hendrix's evolving tones during the final years of his career. Built entirely by hand in Argentina, it delivers the swirling modulation, vocal throb, and three-dimensional movement that made the original effect one of the most iconic sounds in guitar history.

Faithful to the spirit of the original while offering modern reliability and pedalboard-friendly dimensions, the Funky-Vibe ST Maui is designed for players seeking authentic vintage vibe tones without compromise.

Inspired by Hendrix's Maui Performance

The Maui version has its own distinct voice within the Funky-Vibe family.

Inspired by Jimi Hendrix's legendary Maui performance and the swirling tones heard on Hey Baby (New Rising Sun), the Maui features an expanded fast-speed range and a uniquely organic, chewy modulation character that sets it apart from other Funky-Vibe models.

From slow, hypnotic pulses to swirling high-speed textures, the Maui remains rich, musical, and incredibly expressive. Whether used for subtle movement or fully immersive psychedelic tones, it delivers the unmistakable character that has made Sabbadius one of the most respected names in vintage-inspired modulation.

Vintage Circuitry, Modern Convenience

The Funky-Vibe ST Maui features an all-analog handwired circuit built around custom 7 mm CdS/LDR photocells and an original 1970s Japanese lamp, carefully chosen to reproduce the response, chewy swirl, and organic feel of the finest vintage Uni-Vibe units.

The Chorus/Vibrato switch allows you to choose between lush, phase-like swirl and more pronounced pitch modulation. The dedicated Cancel footswitch disengages the lamp modulation while keeping the warm vintage preamp active, allowing the pedal to function as a rich-sounding boost and tone enhancer.

An expression pedal input provides real-time control over the modulation speed, while standard 18V DC operation makes the ST Maui easy to integrate into modern pedalboards anywhere in the world.

Warm, organic, and unmistakably musical, the Funky-Vibe ST Maui brings one of Hendrix's most memorable modulation sounds into a practical modern format.
