The Pete Cornish CC1 is a low to medium gain overdrive that's super responsive to your playing.
Its 3 band active EQ make it a veritable swiss army knife overdrive!
The CC-1 features two fixed low gain soft clipping stages preceded by a variable gain preamp.
This preamp can compensate for low output pickups or provide extra drive to the soft clipping stages.
The advantage of using two low gain soft clipping stages rather than hard diode clipping is that they are removed from the audio path when the signal level drops below their transition point: ensuring a perfect cleanup when your guitar’s volume is reduced.
As the signal level increases due to stronger playing, the soft clips gradually engage and start to add harmonics. Dynamics are preserved and superb musicality ensues!
Following on from the soft clipping stages is a 3 band active EQ using frequencies specifically tailored for guitars.
Being active, the three tone bands can be both cut and boosted as desired with the neutral point being 12 o'clock.
An output Master Volume is included to allow for perfect matching between bypassed and boosted/EQ’d signal level.
There is plenty of signal headroom available to overdrive amp inputs if required!
