The Origin Effects M-EQ Driver takes inspiration from the legendary Pultec studio equalizers of the 1950s, transforming their famously musical EQ curves and rich analog character into a powerful tone-shaping pedal designed specifically for guitar.
Rather than simply recreating a vintage studio equalizer, Origin Effects reimagined the concept as a versatile mid booster and overdrive. A transformer-equipped signal path and push-pull output stage add harmonic richness and subtle saturation, capturing much of the warmth and character associated with classic studio equipment.
The M-EQ Driver offers a choice of carefully selected midrange frequencies, allowing you to add anything from subtle presence and definition to a pronounced, vocal mid boost. Push the circuit harder and it moves naturally into rich overdrive, with more extreme settings capable of producing aggressive, cocked-wah-style distortion.
The CUT control is inspired by the high-frequency attenuation section of the original Pultec design, progressively rolling off treble as it is increased. Engage the ADAPT switch and Origin Effects' Adaptive Circuitry dynamically reduces this high-frequency roll-off as the pedal cleans up, allowing you to move smoothly from warm overdrive to brighter, clearer tones simply by lowering your guitar's volume or changing your picking dynamics.
