Parting is a glitch delay and reverb device built around signal crushing, modulation and controlled randomness. Created in collaboration with harpist Emily Hopkins, Parting brings together Old Blood Noise Endeavors’ experimental design approach with a carefully curated palette of glitch, ambient and textural effects inspired by Emily’s favorite sounds.
At the center of Parting is a single control that dissolves your signal into crushed textures or sends it into reverse. To one side, modulation controls shape rate, depth and movement. To the other, a glitchy delay can be influenced by chance-based or envelope-controlled behavior, then smeared into reverb. All of these elements interact with layers of clock-shifting randomness, creating evolving textures that range from subtle motion to unpredictable, broken soundscapes.
Although designed in collaboration with a harpist, Parting is voiced for all instruments. It works equally well on guitar, bass, synths, strings and experimental sources, offering everything from atmospheric ambience to fractured, rhythmic chaos. Stereo input and output, presets and full MIDI control make Parting easy to integrate into modern pedalboards, studio rigs and live setups.
With analog dry-through, selectable Trails or True Bypass and soft-touch switching, Parting balances deep experimental potential with practical usability. It is a creative tool designed to reward exploration while remaining musical and expressive.
