Introducing the Altitude, inspired by the legendary 1990s Marshall Bluesbreaker, a favorite of many guitarists.
Altitude takes this iconic circuit to new heights, offering enhanced tweakability and versatility!
The pedal effortlessly transitions from low-gain, transparent sounds to classic, saturated rock tones.
And, with the added feature of a clean boost, Altitude opens up a world of tonal possibilities.
Sharing the design platform of Nordvang's Mid-Air, Altitude boasts stacked PCBs in a compact-sized Hammond 1590B3 enclosure.
This design facilitates the incorporation of an extra footswitch, alongside 5 knobs, and 2 toggle switches.
Whether you're after the iconic clean sounds or pushing your amp into overdrive, Altitude delivers!
Independent boost section.
Altitude's boost circuit is pre-drive and can be used independent of the main drive circuit.
It’s a clean boost built around an op-amp and isn’t meant to color or change your tone, but gives you more of what you already have.
The boost knob controls the gain of the boost circuit, from unity with the gain at minimum to an 18dB boost, with the gain at maximum.
A three-position toggle switch also gives you three different voicings to choose from (full frequency, low-mids, and high-mids).
New buffer circuit.
When designing Altitude’s buffer, Nordvang took inspiration from their Gravity pedal, where both the Klon and TS sides are buffered.
Impressed by the resulting buffered tone, Nordvang set out to design something special for Altitude!
The result is a unique circuit featuring a TS-style NPN transistor input buffer followed by Klon-inspired op-amp output buffer.
And, because not every guitarist likes a buffer, Nordvang made the buffer switchable. This is done via a DIP switch found on the inside.
