The cult classic ODR-1 gets an update!

A cult classic among Nashville session players, the ODR-1 is a super natural-sounding dirt box.

It fits sonically somewhere between the mythical transparent overdrive and a certain mid-forward green pedal.

The ODR-1 boasts a 3-knob control set with Drive, Spectrum, and Level knobs.

Drive and Level are self-explanatory; however, the Spectrum knob offers something different.

Rather than operating as a typical tone control, Spectrum enables you to simultaneously dial in your bass and treble without affecting your mids.

The result is extremely transparent: it flatters any amp you plug the pedal into.

The new version of the ODR-1 also serves up a bass-cut switch, a remote input jack, 18V power compatibility, and glow-in-the-dark knobs!

With its ability to tackle light harmonic coloration, blues grit, and hard-rock crunch, the Nobels ODR-1 is the secret to the coveted Nashville session sound!

Nobels ODR-1 BC overdrive pedal features:

• The cult classic drive pedal used by countless Nashville session players.

Good enough for Nashville !

I couldn't agree more - BEST OD I once owned and now own AGAIN!

I had an original in the early 90's and never thought it was good or bad. It did the job well and was replaced by a Boss OD-1 which I also sold. At the time I didn't understand or hear the nuances of this pedal and or course wish I had it back - I believe it is for sale on Reverb for crazy money!

I agree completely with everything Nilan says in his review above mine.

You cannot get a bad sound out of this pedal and it just displace about 5 other quality admired well reviewed much more expensive pedals.

I WISH I had seen the 30th Anniversray Edition before I did as I would really like to have the variable bass control when switching between humbuckers and single coils however the bass cut switch is a great idea and I think necessary, It is subtle but if you don't switch it off using a Fender Princeton Amp you will notice the difference. It's a different sound, but humbuckers in a Princeton sound better with the bass cut switch in the negative position.

Too bad they didn't make it standard as it ought to be, or better yet it would be great if they reissued the ODR-S which is what I had. It had the full complement of tone controls..

So I have tried to get my hands on the limited edition (all these things do is drive prices up and the profiteers take over) without much success as it will end up costing more than say the ODR Clone made by the amp guy in California.

If the Nobels company reads reviews it would be good to see a reissue of the ODR-S as wel,l but I guess the chap who came up with this circuit is busy with his own Norland company and pedals which seem to available only to European markets at pretty steep prices - I suppose the focus being for session musician which I definitely am not.

If you can get your hands on one unlikely you would ever sell it.

Oh and if it becomes available again, please purchase from electric Mojo guitars here in Canada where I got mine. Terrific little shop and wonderful service. 5 stars to them

ODR-1

I recently bought a Nobels ODR-1 from the folks at Electric Mojo Guitars. I had done countless hours of research on the pedal so I figured it was time to pull the trigger. I try not not to expect magic, but one can always hope. The amount of hype on this pedal was a bit to much for me to believe however I wanted to see for myself. I was not let down. This pedal does everything the hype says. It plays so nice with all my pedals and amps. It is truly amazing. Absolutely the most transparent OD I have. I have many. I trusted Electric Mojo as they have never let me down. They hit another home run. You will never regret buying this pedal, or buying from Electric Mojo Guitars; professionals helping professionals, semi pros and hobbyists. Thank you Nobels. Thank You Charles et al., great job - great product. 🎼🎸🎸🎸🎸:||
