The Headstrong Royal Reverb is a faithful recreation of one of the most celebrated amplifiers ever made: the 1964 AB763 Deluxe Reverb. Introduced in 2006, the Royal Reverb was created for players looking for the unmistakable sound and feel of a great vintage Deluxe Reverb without having to search for an increasingly rare original.
Powered by a pair of 6V6 power tubes delivering 22 watts, the Royal Reverb captures the clarity, sparkle and dynamic response that made the original Deluxe Reverb a studio and stage classic. Clean tones are rich, open and beautifully articulate, while pushing the volume brings out the natural compression, warmth and overdrive that have made this circuit a favorite across countless styles of music.
Two independent channels provide the familiar Normal and Bright voices, with dedicated Volume, Treble and Bass controls for each. The Bright channel also gives you access to lush tube-driven spring reverb and classic tremolo, with dedicated Reverb, Speed and Intensity controls.
Like every Headstrong amplifier, the Royal Reverb is completely hand wired using traditional construction techniques. A finger-jointed pine cabinet keeps the combo resonant and responsive, while a 12" Eminence GA-SC64 speaker complements the circuit with the balanced lows, articulate midrange and smooth top end associated with classic American guitar tones.
At 22 watts, the Royal Reverb sits in the sweet spot between smaller recording and practice amps and larger vintage-style combos. It offers enough clean headroom for rehearsals and live performances while remaining responsive enough to push into natural tube overdrive at manageable levels, making it an exceptionally versatile choice for the studio, stage or home.
