Four classic analog modulation effects in one

The FTelettronica Plurichorus is a deep analog multi-modulation pedal inspired by the legendary Electro-Harmonix Echo Flanger and Polychorus. Built around classic Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) technology, it combines Filter Matrix, Flange, Chorus and Slap Back effects in a single pedal, ranging from warm and spacious modulation to resonant sweeps, short echoes and wonderfully unconventional textures.

Rather than treating its four modes as completely separate effects, the Plurichorus uses a highly interactive set of controls whose functions change depending on the selected mode. Rate and Width determine the speed and depth of the modulation, while Tune and Feedback can dramatically reshape the character of each effect. This makes the Plurichorus particularly rewarding to explore, with small adjustments capable of producing substantially different sounds.

Filter Matrix disables the automatic LFO sweep and turns the pedal into a manually adjustable comb filter. The Tune control can then sweep through fixed flange positions, moving from airy, chiming textures to richer and more resonant sounds. Increasing Feedback sharpens and intensifies the effect, making this mode particularly useful for metallic, hollow and unusual static-filter textures.

Flange reintroduces the LFO and delivers everything from slow, dramatic sweeps to fast, swirling modulation. Tune establishes the center of the flange sweep, Width determines how far it travels and Rate controls its speed, with a range extending from approximately one cycle every ten seconds to around ten cycles per second. Feedback can add further resonance and, at extreme settings, push the circuit into self-oscillation.

Chorus shifts the pedal toward lush, spacious modulation and short modulated echoes. Depending on the settings, it can produce everything from subtle doubling and 12-string-like textures to rotating-speaker-style movement and much more pronounced chorus sounds. Tune adjusts the delay time, Feedback determines the number of repeats, and Width and Rate shape the movement of the modulation.

Slap Back removes the modulation sweep entirely and uses the BBD circuit as a short analog echo. Tune controls the delay time while Feedback determines the number of repeats, adding anything from subtle space around the original signal to a much more obvious slapback effect.

The Plurichorus also offers flexible output routing. Effect Out provides the normal effected output, while Direct Out can send the dry signal to a second amplifier. With the Blend switch turned off, Effect Out carries only the wet signal, allowing the dry and effected sounds to be separated between two amplifiers for a particularly wide stereo setup.

Handmade in Italy by FTelettronica, the Plurichorus brings together several of the most distinctive sounds associated with vintage BBD modulation in one unusually flexible pedal, capable of everything from classic chorus and flanging to experimental textures that venture far beyond conventional modulation.
