This 2025 Aclam Dr Robert Overdrive shows a few minor signs of use.
The pedal works perfectly and comes with its original box and accessories.
The Aclam Dr. Robert V2 is based on the Normal channel of the legendary Vox UL730 amplifier. Part of the UL700 series introduced in 1966, these hybrid amps combined a solid-state preamp with a tube power section and were famously used by The Beatles during the Revolver era and parts of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Only a very small number of UL730 amplifiers still exist today, making them some of the most collectible Vox amps ever produced. Their unique tonal character sits perfectly between tube warmth and solid-state clarity, with a distinctive midrange response that defines the sound.
To accurately recreate the soul of the original amp, Aclam carefully traced the circuit board and measured each component from an original UL730. One of the key elements of this design is the Middle control, which dramatically shapes both EQ and gain. Turning it counterclockwise scoops the mids for a cleaner, chimey sound, while turning it clockwise increases midrange presence and naturally pushes the circuit into saturation.
To further capture the feel of the original amp’s power section, the Dr. Robert V2 includes a custom FET saturation stage that adds harmonically rich drive. Aclam also added the “Mach Schau!” section, which introduces additional saturation via a dedicated footswitch and includes its own volume control. This allows you to switch between a rhythm tone and a more driven lead sound without changing your base settings.
Designed to work equally well with guitar or bass, the Dr. Robert V2 delivers authentic vintage character in a compact, pedalboard-friendly format.
