Your secret weapon for authentic Beatles tones is back and more versatile than ever!
The Dr. Robert V3 is Aclam’s most refined and accurate recreation of the mythical Vox UL730 – the ultra-rare hybrid amp used extensively by The Beatles on Revolver and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
With fewer than 100 units originally produced, and most lost to time, the UL730 has become one of the most collectible and elusive amplifiers of the era. Its unmistakable character was also heard in the hands of The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Page, and later Joy Division.
Aclam built the Dr Robert by carefully tracing and measuring their reference UL730, ensuring every nuance of the amp’s solid-state preamp and tube-like response was faithfully captured.
Just like the original, the powerful midrange section remains the heart of the circuit: turn it counterclockwise for scooped, chimey textures, or clockwise to push gain and saturate the signal for aggressive vintage drive.
With artwork designed by Klaus Voormann, the legendary illustrator behind the Revolver album cover, the Dr. Robert V3 is as visually iconic as it is sonically authentic. Whether used with guitar or bass, it delivers the unmistakable character of the UL730 in a compact, reliable, and studio-ready format.
The Bass and Treble controls, previously internal, are now external – giving players real-time access to the full 3-band EQ.
The beloved “Mach Schau!” section now includes an external Gain control, allowing you to dial in the exact amount of extra saturation for leads or heavier rhythms. A new global LO/HI Gain mode expands the range even further, making the pedal suitable for everything from jangly clean tones to full-bore retro distortion.
