Vintage British Octave Fuzz with a Modern Twist
The SM Fuzz Octaveon is a hand-built, limited-run creation from the UK — a one-of-a-kind octave fuzz designed by Scott McKeon himself. Inspired by his favorite vintage Octavia-style circuits, the Octaveon captures the percussive, funky, and downright nasty upper-octave tones that defined countless classic recordings — while adding modern flexibility and reliability.
At its core, the Octaveon is an analogue octave/fuzz circuit that rectifies and phase-inverts your guitar signal, creating rich high-octave harmonics while trimming away lower frequencies to sharpen the effect. The result is a tone that’s unmistakably vintage yet uniquely musical — from glassy, percussive clarity to full-on fuzzed-out chaos.
The Blend control opens up a world of creative options: mix in your clean signal (or even the output of another fuzz pedal placed before it) for a more balanced texture, or dial back the effect for a bold, British-voiced boost. With Blend engaged, chords become surprisingly usable, letting you weave the octave tone into complex harmonic playing.
Flip the Wonder switch and the Octaveon takes a left turn into synth-like territory — rolling off the highs above 600 Hz for a thick, filtered tone that feels almost electronic.
Top-mounted jacks, true bypass switching, and a glowing custom LED logo round out a pedal built to perform and inspire — both on stage and in the studio.
