Vintage Wah Character, Refined for Modern Players
After years of development and countless hours spent studying vintage wah pedals, Pedal Pawn introduces the Say Wah, a premium wah designed to capture the fat, throaty, and unmistakably vocal character of the most sought-after vintage examples. Inspired by the expressive wah tones of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Say Wah delivers the rich midrange quack, musical sweep, and dynamic response that have made classic wah pedals such an essential part of electric guitar history.
At the heart of the Say Wah is a custom hand-wound inductor, developed specifically for this pedal and paired with Pedal Pawn's own custom-designed circuitry. The result is a remarkably full and expressive wah response, with a pronounced vocal midrange, smooth transitions throughout the sweep, and the ability to move from warm, rounded tones to cutting, articulate highs.
Special attention has also been given to how the Say Wah interacts with other pedals. Carefully voiced to work with fuzz and overdrive, it maintains its distinctive character and expressive sweep when paired with gain effects, making it an excellent choice for players who rely on vintage-style fuzz circuits or pushed amplifier tones.
For precise control over the sweep, Pedal Pawn selected the premium CTS 100K McCon-O-Pot II, a custom-taper potentiometer developed by the creator of the McCon-O-Wah. Designed to provide a musical, expressive response with excellent control over the midrange, it is rated for two million cycles and offers improved durability compared to traditional vintage wah potentiometers.
Each Say Wah begins with a carefully sourced donor wah enclosure, which is stripped to bare metal, professionally refinished, and rebuilt using Pedal Pawn's custom circuitry and hardware. Hand-assembled in the UK, every pedal is individually tested and set up by Chris at Pedal Pawn to ensure consistent performance and the distinctive character that defines the Say Wah.
With its custom-built components, carefully refined voicing, and expressive response, the Pedal Pawn Say Wah brings the character of an exceptional vintage wah into a thoughtfully engineered, modern instrument.
