Three Overdrives, One Massive Sound

Old Blood Noise Endeavors takes its distinctive triple-tracker overdrive concept even further with the Beam Splitter V2. Building on the original pedal's innovative "trereo" architecture, this second generation combines three independently adjustable analog overdrive circuits with two delay lines, creating an expansive range of sounds that can move from conventional overdrive to enormous, multidimensional textures. With the addition of MIDI, presets, expression control, and expanded stereo routing, the Beam Splitter V2 offers even greater creative flexibility.

The concept is simple but remarkably powerful: your guitar signal is split into three separate paths, each passing through its own overdrive circuit with dedicated Gain, Volume, and Tone controls. Two of these paths can also be routed through individual delay lines, allowing you to introduce subtle timing differences between the signals. The result is a thick, layered sound that can resemble multiple guitar performances happening simultaneously, with the ability to create everything from rich, spacious overdrive to unusual modulation and lo-fi textures.

Each delay offers independent Time and Feedback controls, with delay times of up to 211 milliseconds. The Deviate control introduces random fluctuations in delay timing, creating natural movement, chorus-like effects, and subtle variations between the three signal paths. A Delay Select switch determines which two overdrive circuits receive delay, while the Spread control adjusts the stereo width of the resulting sound.

The Beam Splitter V2 offers flexible output configurations, allowing the three signals to be combined in mono, spread across a stereo field, or sent to three separate outputs in its signature trereo mode. This makes it particularly interesting for multi-amplifier setups, stereo pedalboards, and creative recording applications. The pedal also accepts stereo input, which is internally combined to mono when the effect is engaged.

New to the V2 are extensive performance and control options. Three footswitches can be used to activate the individual overdrive circuits or navigate presets, while expression control allows real-time adjustment of the main parameters. MIDI provides control over the pedal's functions and access to up to 127 presets, in addition to three onboard presets. Selectable True Bypass or buffered trails operation offers further flexibility when integrating the pedal into your setup.

From straightforward overdrive and wide stereo textures to flanging, lo-fi vibrato, slapback echoes, and unconventional sound design, the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Beam Splitter V2 transforms a single guitar signal into an expressive, layered instrument with a character all its own.
