Classic, all-analog Phaser soul with modern range
The Cyclone is an all analog phaser voiced after some of the most iconic phaser designs of the past.
Crazy Tube Circuits set out to recreate the exact phasing notches, frequency shifts, and behavior of the original units that inspired each voicing. With added controls that were never found on the vintage pedals, the Cyclone can move from faithful recreations to entirely new textures with unmatched harmonic richness.
Designed for guitar and bass, but equally at home on keyboards and other instruments, the Cyclone delivers everything from warm, organic modulation to bold, swirling movement. Place it before or after your favorite drive pedal to explore a wide range of tonal colors and dynamic textures.
Classic Voicings, Expanded Possibilities
Cyclone offers four distinct voicings, each inspired by a different era of phaser design.
45: Inspired by a mid 70s two stage phaser. This mode adds a subtle, warm, and musical ambience that sits between organic phasing and a rotary speaker style effect. Higher depth settings are recommended for the most expressive results.
90: Voiced after a classic four stage 70s phaser. From soft, shimmering movement to fast and aggressive swoosh. The feedback control allows you to recreate various versions of the original circuits and go beyond them.
ST: Based on an early implementation of another classic four stage phaser. Produces stronger and dirtier mid frequency notches for a whirling, pulsating, and pronounced phase effect. The original had only two feedback options, but the Cyclone’s continuous feedback control gives full flexibility.
LT: A phaser and vibrato blend inspired by a highly sought after 90s boutique phaser from the UK. This mode sits between a classic phaser and a vibe effect, with a focus on musical and expressive modulation rather than extreme sci fi tones.
