Drawing inspiration from the iconic Klon Centaur, the Halcyon Gold Overdrive incorporates Origin Effects' cutting-edge Adaptive circuitry, elevating it to a league of its own.
This unique design allows the pedal to adapt its voicing in response to pick attack and volume changes, making it one of the most dynamic and interactive overdrives out there!
Origin Effects left no stone unturned to recreate the iconic mid-forward voicing and the exact characteristics of the Centaur’s unobtainable vintage diodes. But they didn't stop there; innovative features take the Halcyon Gold beyond the capabilities of the original.
A standout feature is the ADAPT switch, which allows the mid-forward voicing to gradually fade away as the pedal cleans up, offering the classic Klon tone when your guitar is cranked, while revealing the full spectrum of your clean tone as you roll back the volume knob.
The DRY control lets you adjust the level of the dry signal that makes up part of this classic drive tone.
Boost the DRY control to add body and definition to a low-gain amp sound or dial it down to explore the pedal's higher gain tones, particularly when using a clean amp.
The DRY path's overload characteristics were also improved in regards to stacking with other pedals, opening up new flavors of drive.
The VOICE switch gives you the option to choose between the classic Klon mid hump or a smoother, more balanced tone.
The KLN setting offers the standard Klon voicing, while the MOD setting engages a broader mid hump and a softer, more compressed clipping characteristic, ideal for single coil pickups and higher gain tones paired with very clean amp sounds.
