Beanies’ take on the legendary Tone Bender MKI
The Beanies Tone Bender MKI Wedge delivers the raw, aggressive voice that defined early British fuzz. Sharp attack, ripping saturation, and an unmistakably primitive character make this pedal ideal for recreating the iconic sounds of early ’60s rock.
The Tone Bender MKI is closely associated with the earliest British fuzz tones of the mid-1960s, famously heard on recordings by Jeff Beck and early Jimmy Page.
Built around NOS OC75 germanium transistors, this MKI captures the chaotic, harmonically rich response that made the original circuit legendary. From cutting, spitty fuzz tones to thick, compressed sustain, it rewards expressive playing and reacts strongly to guitar volume changes.
Housed in a classic wedge-shaped enclosure, this version stays true to the look and feel of the earliest Tone Bender units. The MKI’s authentically old-school assembly makes it clear this circuit is a true labor of love, with components soldered point-to-point on a phenolic board using carefully selected NOS components.
Beanies Tone Bender MKI OC75 Fuzz Features:
• Tone Bender MKI–inspired fuzz
• NOS OC75 germanium transistors
• Raw, aggressive, vintage-correct response
• Handcrafted using vintage and NOS components
• Classic wedge-style enclosure
