The Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE is overflowing with the most sought-after overdriven amp tones from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
The RevivalDRIVE is no digital emulation!
The pedal uses real circuit topology to replicate the breakup characteristics, sag, and ghosting of classic American and British amps.
For tone chasers, it’s a veritable dream machine, giving you access to limitless tones!
And it’s designed to provide those brutal dimed-amp sounds at neighbor-friendly volumes, without any sonic sacrifice.
Intuitive controls let you tweak every aspect of the amplifier, from preamp shape to power amp breakup, even down to the sag and ripple of the HT supply.
With amp-like playing feel and realistic harmonics, this may be the last overdrive pedal you will ever need!
Much of the magic imparted by vintage amps derives from their slight yet musical imperfections, such as sag and ghosting.
Sag refers to when the power supply voltage drops when it gets hit with a large transient signal.
This creates a natural compression effect and contributes to the dynamic feel of vintage-style amps.
Ghosting is when a slightly darker and often atonal note follows what you play. This is created by the amp’s rectifier during power conversion.
On paper, sag and ghosting are technically design flaws. However, without them, a vintage amp loses a lot of its charm.
RevivalDRIVE gives you total control over how much or how little sag or ghosting you add into the signal to strike the perfect balance of clarity and character!
