The DSM Humboldt Sub Atomic is a compact, all-analog 2-channel preamp designed to bring low-end chaos—with definition, clarity, and punch. Whether you're after warm, responsive cleans or thunderous, grinding distortion, the Sub Atomic delivers massive bass tones with studio-grade control!
At its heart are two discrete preamp channels. The Clean channel uses cascading CMOS stages to deliver subtle compression, natural tube-like dynamics, and warm harmonic content. Flip to the Subatomic Drive channel for explosive distortion—rich in saturation and packed with a blend control that lets you dial in your clean signal for added clarity and punch.
A shared 3-band EQ (80Hz / 500Hz / 2kHz) gives you flexible tone shaping, while the Sub LPF switch (500Hz / 100Hz / Off) tightens up your lows to keep your tone focused, even under extreme gain.
Perfect for the studio or the stage, the Sub Atomic includes a balanced XLR DI output with a switchable analog 8x10 cab sim, a noise-fighting ground lift, and a series FX loop for post-drive effects. Whether you’re recording direct, playing live, or running a silent rig, the Sub Atomic is a pedalboard-friendly powerhouse ready to deliver earth-shaking tone!
