JAM Pedals’ unabashed distortion monster.
JAM Pedals pulled out all the stops with the Rattler: a design inspired by the classic 1980s ProCo RAT distortion!
The Rattler improves on the original design by making it more responsive to picking and fretting nuances.
The result is an open, dynamic, overdriven tube-amp feel!
Its asymmetrical clipping circuit, carbon comp resistors and legendary NOS LM308N chip are the main ingredients in this awesome recipe.
The Rattler really nails the fuzzier characteristics of the original RAT circuit and shines through any rig.
Enjoy fat and creamy distortion courtesy of this devious snake!

The first guitar I used is...
The first guitar I used is a 1960 Reissue ES-355. Sounded great but a bit bright because the pickups are wound to be accurate and so not too hot. Once I balanced the tone I kicked in the Rattler with everything at 12. Wow! Go to the neck pickup and roll off the tone with the volume at 7 on the guitar and there’s that Clapton tone albeit without the talent.
Next was a brand new Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul (mid build) for the thinner but not 61 profile neck.
It’s so good it encouraged me to increase the volume on the amp head. The windows shook, stuff wiggled off tables and my ears are still ringing. Magnificent! No simple overdrive here just incredibly controllable distortion right up to ZZ Top LaGrange era fuzz. In fact LaGrange sounded awesome, the best distortion fuzz I have ever gotten.
This pedal is killer! For players like me who don’t love other distortions and generally hate fuzz this is the best distortion fuzz that I have ever played.
