Originally introduced in the mid-1980s, the ODR-1 was designed to offer an alternative to the mid-focused overdrive pedals of the era, delivering a more open, natural, and amp-like response. Its dynamic feel, wide frequency range, and distinctive Spectrum control quickly earned the ODR-1 a devoted following, particularly among Nashville session musicians seeking an overdrive that enhanced their tone without masking the character of their guitars and amplifiers. Decades later, the ODR-1 remains a staple on countless pedalboards and continues to inspire players across a wide range of musical styles. Used by artists such as Gary Moore, Bryan Adams, Jerry Donahue, Guthrie Trapp, and many others, the Nobels ODR-1 has become a modern classic, celebrated for its musicality, touch sensitivity, and unmistakably open character.
